Fall Foliage # 1 ..............

This is the first sign of fall color in the trees around my house. The bright red orange leaves really stand out.

How lovely! I'm still seeing a sea of green around my place but it's good to know cooler days are on the way!

We are beginning to change here on the Plateau in Tn. also. My Sourwood is looking real pretty.

Lots of leaves are falling off the trees here, but they are brown and shrivelled. The leaves still on the trees don't look too good, either. Don't know what has happened here. We haven't had a drought, and it hasn't been very hot, so what is going on??

Already!! We have nothing, yet. I'm ready for the cooler weather.

This is a black gum tree. Its leaves turn in late summer before anything else. We are still pretty warm here - still having to wear shorts, tees, and sandals.

Do you mean you HAVE to wear shorts, T's and sandals because its so hot??

Just at the moment we are lucky to see the sun, though it has broken out now. I'm wearing warmish trousers, high-necked thin jumper and lightweight jumper on top. If I go out I will need a coat.

Could you send over a bit of warmth.......
