Missing ............

Things have been rather sad around here the last couple of days. My sweet kitty Mazie Grace is missing. I last saw her around supper time on Monday, sleeping in the Norfolk Island Pine pot on the deck. Usually she sits on the deck railing in the morning and meows to be fed. I didn't see her Tuesday morning. I had an appointment in Richmond for my mammogram, so I was gone until mid afternoon. When I got home, I looked for her and called her, but there was no sign of her. She didn't show up this morning either. I've walked over all the roads, checking the ditches in case she was hit by a car. I've gone in the fields behind the house calling her. I keep checking outside, hoping she has come home, But there is no Mazie Grace. She has never been gone this long before, so I'm really worried about her.

I'm afraid either a bobcat or a coyote has gotten her. We have both around here and they have been known to catch cats. I haven't given up hope, but it doesn't look like she will be back.

Oh no...this upsets me so much. I know how you feel and wish I could help. Our calico -- the one Mazie looks like -- would occasionally 'escape'. The longest she was gone was for two days so I know that awful, sinking feeling of calling both day and night. There's still hope. Please keep me posted.

Oh, I am so sorry. That makes me very sad.

I will, however, tell you not to give up yet. Our big cat was missing for more than a week. The day we got a new kitty he showed up at the patio door! Believe me, he was not happy he'd been replaced so quickly.

OMG....I feel your pain. We lost (2) cats to either a coyote or "fisher cat" and (1) was hit by a car. All of our cats are now indoor only. They adjusted really well since we have loads of windows.

One of our cats was missing for (15) days and then she reappeared. We think she may have gotten locked in someones garage or something?? She was a little thinner, but otherwise fine.

Keep us posted. How old is she?

Could she be locked in somewhere? Maybe at a neighbor's?

I hope she returns safely.

I am so very sorry. The not knowing is agony. Diane and Becky both have a good idea. Wouldn't hurt to check with neighbors. I once found a cat that had ridden to town in its owners wheel well and jumped out at Walmart. She said it had happened before. Perhaps it went to your appointment. Sure hope you find her.

Don't lose hope yet. Is it baby bird time there? Always a time for some cats to go wild for a few days. But fingers and paws are tightly crossed here in our house, hoping for good news soon.

I am so sorry! But I believe there is still hope. Cats are strange that way. They go out and disappear on us then show up like nothing happened.

My 20 yr. old cat has been nuts about going out since the weather changed. We let her out the other night and had to go find her after she didn't show up again several hours later. Not like her at all.

I'm sure your cat will turn up. She knows where she belongs and cats are good at handling themselves outdoors. It's probably just the warm weather and all the new life out there attracting her.

I will say a prayer she comes home soon.

Missing pets are much like missing children. I'vew had several dogs escape our enclosures. Either we leave a gate open, or in one case, one dug under a chainlink when someone was throwing fireworks in the yard at the dog.

Sincerely hope the kitty returns home. In my tale of Mr Sammy, he went missing during the death of his master and was gone 4 days. During his terminal illness the cat also would disappear for a day or two. But he did come home to stay.

I am so sorry. Cat's do do this sometimes though, they can get caught somewhere and often eventually make it home. I hope she does.
