Here are some before pictures of my kitchen. As you can see it is a small galley style. The door is to my pantry which has shelves on both sides and holds my trash can, the kitty litter box, and kitty food dishes. The cabinets are the orignal ones from 1975 when the house was built.
My dishwasher is leaking, so I will replace it.
The stove and refrigerator will stay. We will get a new microwave installed over the stove.
My new cabinets have been ordered. They will be white painted maple and will be arranged the same as the old ones. I've decided on silestone for the countertops but have not chosen the color. I know granite is very popular now, but silestone is less trouble to maintain and is very durable.
Below on the right is a sample of the tile I'm considering for the floor. On the left is a sample of the tile I'm considering for the backsplash. I'm having a hard time visualizing what it will look like. I'm wondering if it will be too dark or too busy for such a small room.
I also need to choose a new faucet and a new pendant light for over the sink. Decisions ... decisions ... I'm not good at making decisions.

Love your samples, I think it will be awesome and not too busy. You keep your cabinets tidy and uncluttered so I think it will be a real asset to the kitchen.
I can't wait to see when you are finished! Have fun! Marla
I loooooooooove the floor tile and the backsplash tiles. We were looking at flooring the other day and the only ones we liked were similar to these. jan
I like the title and backsplash a lot Mary. The colors will go with anything really.
Nice colors on both tile selections. I really like white cabinets and your new ones will likely make your room appear larger. Can't wait to see some after pics.
What color will be the walls? I like the tiles and if your walls are lighter, it will be beautiful. If the painted walls are darker, the tiles might be too dark. I like a galley kitchen; it's easy and simple to use with everything at hand.
Redoing a kitchen is such fun and SO gratifying; enjoy!
I can't wait to see the make-over pictures!
On the floor tile, here is something to think about. The smaller the tile, the more "in between" areas to keep clean. I love my ceramic tile floors, but keeping the grout line clean takes a lot of work. On the other hand, the smaller tiles are good if one breaks or chips and you want to replace it. I opted for 12" tiles. After nearly 5 years, I don't regret it.
This has to be both a frustrating and exciting time. I am the world's worst trying to visualize anything from a small square piece. Good luck.
Great before pictures! I think your choices are all great ones. I really like the backsplash tile and the floor. Both are handsome. If you're concerned about darkness,
take a piece of the backsplash tile's lighter colors and match that to the floor.
I like your old kitchen, but you probably don't want to hear that. The new white cabinets will make the room look larger and brighter, so I would not worry too much about the splash back, although your choice of tile looks appealing. Good luck and I know you will keep us posted. Dianne
We nearly divorced when we had our kitchen refitted!!! Choosing things was dreadful. And all the kitchen things sitting in the living room was no fun at all.
Good luck with yours!

Those tiles will look great. They are not too busy or too dark at all.
Lucky you. Would love to do a bit of making over in our kitchen too... Not the cabinets, but the countertops, backsplash and paint.... Only problem is once we start, we get carried away !
