That was our heat index awhile ago. The actual temperature was 102. The humidity has been very oppressive the last few days. The air is so laden with moisture, it's like living inside a cloud - a 102 degree cloud. We were in the pool earlier, but the water is too warm to be really refreshing, so we came back inside with the AC. I brought all three cats inside this afternoon and put them in separate rooms so they wouldn't fight. The heat is dangerous for animals as well as people.
Hope everyone is managing to stay cool.

Down here in Wythe County it was 92 and incredibly humid when I too our Lab, Buddy out to do his business and my asthma started acting up after just a few minutes. Then a thunder boomer popped up around 2:00 PM and the temperature plummeted. It's still humid but we have the windows open because it's 70 degrees!
The heat and humidity have been awful. I'm exhausted by 6pm.
It is bad here in KY as well. Our pool is so warm it is like bath water. crazy
But I can't wait to get to VA full time and just have a brief period of the hot weather!
Down here in LA, we've got until September with the daily 90's and up and humidity. Bleech!!
Welcome to my world. It has been like that for about a month now with only a few mid-ninety days thrown in to keep us sane. Am just as house bound after 10 AM as if there were three feet of snow outside.
Florida has actually been pretty good. It may become the summer destination in the future.
I am squinting hard to see if Fall is on the way--- anywhere.
I heard things got very hot down your way. We had a bad enough heat wave, but things should get better tomorrown. Stay cool in that nice pool of yours. Dianne
We have cooled down and are getting some rain, finally. Let's hope it is a trend moving across to the East! My high today is predicted to be 84°, much more normal for this area than the 90° we've had most of the summer. And yes, I know 90° or 95° probably sounds heavenly to you!!
We've had a heat index this week of 105, very hot for PA. The recent rain has helped with moisture but not temperatures. This summer has been so dry!
Hot here in the Roanoke valley, too!
When I got home and let the dog out so we could go feed the horses, he laid down on the driveway and didn't come with me. I thought he was getting heat stroke! He never not comes!
We are all in the same boat, hmmm, boat might not be a bad idea if air conditioned-not by Mother Nature.
Luckie hates summer as she cannot ride in car with us. It really starts earlier like May normally.
I hope you're getting some relief. The temps are a little better here and the humidity has gone down. It's only supposed to last a few days but it's better than nothing.
The poor kitties lie around like ragdolls...the funny thing is they don't like the AC at all.
I hope you are all hanging in there!
My gosh, you do get it how over there! I am sure it would kill me.
We complain here if it gets above 84! Though we don't have AC on our houses. So perhaps its as well we don't get too hot!
I know, it's been rough. And I heard on the radio temps are going up again. It just makes me tired - I have a hard time finding motivation to do much in the heat!
That's terrible but east to west and nearly north to south, the entire country is suffering.
I guess a thunder boomer would be welcomed at this house, by every one except Luckie. She hides when we have thunder.
I don't think I could stand that heat. I remember having to suffer 98 F in France a few years back all week driving around places in a car. That was bad enough for me. A you say ... stay cool.
Goodness, and I was complaining when the temp hit 101 last week :(
Hope you all stay as cool as possible.
Yep hoping with you! Last night it cooled down a bit, but still no rain. right now i just want rain. It hasn't rained in seven weeks... well, 0.3 inches, that was it...
And yep the animals have it tough too with this kind of temps!
