I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. As usual, we stayed at home. I cooked a turkey with all the side dishes. My brother was our only guest, so the three of us ended up stuffing ourselves. Most of the leftovers are gone now, so I plan on making a big pot of soup tomorrow.
Did you check out all the sales? You couldn't pay me to go shopping on Black Friday. There's absolutely nothing I need or want enough to put up with the crowds. I don't do much Christmas shopping anyway. I've ordered Hubby a watch from a local jewelers and will find a small gift for my brother. That is all the shopping I plan on doing.
My brother eats supper with us several times a week. Mollie Ann has fallen in love with his lap. As soon as he sits down, she jumps up and settles down. She doesn't move until he gets up to go home. I've tried to talk him into adopting her, but he already has one cat.
Is that a picture of pure relaxation or what?
We've been busy getting up leaves in the yard. They seem to fall faster than we can get them up. With 2 acres of yard we don't try to rake except where the leaf vacuum doesn't go. We have an abundance of acorns, hickory nuts, walnuts, and sweet gum balls this year. Hope that doesn't mean we will have a bad winter.

Mollie Ann is adorable. So nice she found the perfect lap for taking a nap!
She really does like his lap. How cute.
Sounds like you had a nice relaxing holiday; me too with 4 days off. Mollie Ann looks so happy. It warms my heart that you welcomed her into your life.
What a lovely brother you have to let Mollie Ann sit there all the time! She looks totally in love with him!
And I greatly admire your leaf collector - our lawn would be far too small for that, but maybe there is a miniature version!?
I like the idea of having Turkey in November. We have to wait until Christmas!!
Now that is a picture of comfort and joy. I let my leaves lie but I sure don't have your collectiion. Cool leaf collector.
You won't catch me doing Black Friday for anything.
I LOVE THAT YARD VACUUM!!! I've heard that a dearth of acorns, et al. is an indication of a bad winter. But then again, I've heard the opposite as well. I think we're going to have a really mild winter.
Cannot believe that shot of Mollie of your bro's lap! She really loves him, doesn't she?
I don't need anything bad enough make me get out during the giant sales!
Glad your holiday was a nice one! Mollie Ann reminds me of my childhood cat, April who was a gray and white tabby. She looks like a real sweetie!
Your Christmas plans sounds somewhat like ours. I do remember when I hit Black Friday at 4 a.m.
But I found the bargains, not so great when they appear a few weeks later marked down some more.
I did venture out Black Friday afternnon; WalMart was almost normal.
Glady you had a nice Thanksgiving.
Wow, what a cute cat. I like that leaf contraption; we need one of those.
Our Thanksgiving was much like yours with only 3 of us sharing dinner. We brought turkey dinner to my mom's home in NJ; cooked the turkey, dressing gravy, soup cranberry relish, pumpkin pie in our home and transported; fixed a couple of side dishes there. No black Friday or cyber Monday shopping for us either. We're keeping it simple and agreed NOT to buy each other gifts we don't need. Nice that your brother joined you and Mollie Ann is obviously delighted too!
Pure bliss. I hope your brother likes the cat as much as she likes his lap. My husband is a cat lover and they always find him too. Dianne
Glad to hear that you had a lovely Thanksgiving.
That picture of MollieAnn reminds me of how we got our first cat when I was a child. We had gone to a relative's house for dinner, and their cat had just had kittens. Much to my mom's dismay, the relative put a kitten in my lap, and that was all she wrote, lol.
Cats are funny, aren't they?
I agree with you, Black Friday is something to avoid. I tried it once and that was enough for a lifetime!
Love the pics of Mollie Ann in your brother's lap. That is one content, relaxed cat!
Sometimes, low-key small holiday celebrations can be the best of all!
