Today was hot (in the 90s) and it was one of those humid Virginia afternoons. It felt like July instead of May.
The local girls spent the afternoon at the corner. This is where they like to congregate, relaxing in the shade and catching any breeze that happens by. I'm sure they catch up on the latest gossip and tell some tall tales.
I like the lady with white on her face. She was curious as to what I was doing and watched me carefully. I think she wanted to be sure I got her picture.

Too hot is right! Only high 50's today here. The photos are cute, but feel sorry for how hot the cows must be. Crazy weather!
Great shot of the gals gathering under the trees. We had temps in the 80's yesterday but today it was much cooler. Love summer but not looking forward to the humidity.
Love the photos and the white face lady. If I was them I would have spent the day under the trees too, it is way to warm for May.
Love those cow gatherings! I think we're in for a long hot summer.
We hit 90 yesterday also. Yikes, this may be a record setting summer.
Smart cows to get out of the heat especially when you have a black hide that soaks up the heat.
Good manure for your garden there. Dianne
It has been steamy. I was out w/ the vet this morning giving my horses vaccines, and I was drenched from the heat!
Looks like the girls knew just the right place to gather on a hot spring afternoon.
Hot, hazy and humid down here, as well. We even had to use the A/C for a couple of hours yesterday. Just when we thought we were getting ahead on our AEP budget billing plan.....
And in our section of VA it was cool, rainy and we sheared this morning. Then I took a 2 hour nap trying to catch up from being up since 1:30 this morning.
I read cattle prices are going up, probably after June when the feeder cattle are sold from the TX drought.
But how do they SMELL? Ha ha, only kidding. (I think you saw my post about the smelly dairy cows.)
I agree it feels like summer already, even here in PA. It was in the 80's and humid. I can't wait for the cool down in the next few days.
I love how cattle congregate. I have a couple of places I need to stop and get a shot of them "cooling their dudes in a pond. That always fascinates me.
Could you send any sun and warmth you don't over here, please? Our part of the UK is wet and windy and COLD!
Love the cows, I can imagine them there, swishing their tales and looking as cows do. They are usually very curious, and want to know everything that is going on. But I reckon that shade was just too lovely to move!
