I planted a Red Maple just for its fall foliage. It can be spectactular. Right now, we are just starting also. Soon.
Gorgeous! The maples and wild dogwoods are just starting to change now.
Leaves are getting a burnished look in my region. Full color should be here in another week or two.
Red maples are poisonous to horses. I used to tie one of my horses to a red maple tree. It was what I called his "patient tree." I'd leave him there for an hour or two so he'd learn to be patient and relax when tied. Then one day the vet said, "You know that's a red maple, right?" www.GreenerPastures--ACityGirlGoesCountry.blogspot.com
The leaves here have already changed and are starting to fall. It's getting close to raking time!Pretty picture!
I love watching the color changes, especially with maples and oaks...just gorgeous. we are past peak here...enjoy
