Fall Foliage # 2 ...........

The red maple in my front yard is just beginning to get some colorful leaves. Our trees are still mostly green, but it shouldn't be long before the woods turn all the shades of fall.

I planted a Red Maple just for its fall foliage. It can be spectactular. Right now, we are just starting also. Soon.

Leaves are getting a burnished look in my region. Full color should be here in another week or two.

Red maples are poisonous to horses. I used to tie one of my horses to a red maple tree. It was what I called his "patient tree." I'd leave him there for an hour or two so he'd learn to be patient and relax when tied. Then one day the vet said, "You know that's a red maple, right?"

The leaves here have already changed and are starting to fall. It's getting close to raking time!

Pretty picture!
