An uneventful week ..........

Seems like I've been busy, but I haven't accomplished a thing of interest. I got my Christmas cards done today and actually took them out in the cold rain and put them in the mail. I've begun my decorating, but still have the tree and a few other things to do. I'll have pictures when it is done. I've started some baking, but still have more to do. Do you notice a pattern here? I've started Christmas preparations but need to get busy and finish what I've started.

I did get to the hairdresser last week. I had decided to stop coloring my hair and embrace the natural gray. Well, my hair isn't a pretty shade of gray - it's a mousey, steel grey mixed with brown. It looked so bad I had to get it colored again. It's now back to it's natural dark brown. Tuesday I have an appointment to get my eyes checked. I will need to get new glasses. My lenses are so scratched I can hardly see through them. I'm trying to decide what type of frames I want to get. I hate making decisions.

I'm sure everyone is busy with Christmas preparations and festivities. Have a good week!

I mailed our Holiday cards this past week as well. We have really cut down over the years, and now send them only to those we don't see throughout the year.

Several blogs have re-defined their Christmas traditions. I suppose when they become chores they no long define Christmas in our mind.

I abandoned Christmas letters and cards about 2 years ago.Last year I gave up decorating, gifts and a huge meal.

Instead we took the money and distributed to those who would have no Christmas at all.

We each agreed to buy ourselves one gift called Christmas, no price or questioned from the other. Since I bought a Kindle early to take to the hospital, that is Christmas, although I am getting my wedding rings stretched to fit my more chubby and arthritic finger--not a cheap fix in my area.

If you have followed recent posts, I am losing weight very slowly and the ring will barely slide over the ring finger but would probably have to be cut off.

My merky mind decided I would love to be able to wrap adhesive tape around my rings at 74, like we teenage girls did cheap rings we bought in the "dime" store so very long ago.

Hope all of your traditions are fulfilled and you thoroughly enjoy Christmas.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours.

Like Nitwit1, I also gave up sending out Christmas cards a couple of years ago. I feel guilty about it, lol. But no way will I do it again because of the price of stamps! It's practically a half a buck nowadays! And they wonder why they're going out of business. Every time the stamps get raised, I pay more and more bills online, etc.

At least you have "started" projects. You have me beat.
I have had friends write me to say they weren't sending Christmas cards this year. Too bad that information wasn't inclosed in a card.
Sorry to see that tradition go but I am also cutting way back.
Perhaps having Christmas shoved at us in October is hurting.

I have bought all the presents, but not posted them yet! And done the cards AND posted them!! Npt that there are many, mostly close friends and family that I don't see very often.

But this year I haven't done expensive presents, just small ones (except for the young children)

You could always have your hair colored a pretty shade of grey. I was in the hairdresser's shop last week, and every woman in the place had a different shade of grey. Don't know if any of them were the result of coloring or not, but I have my suspicions.

It's funny.... I went out in the cold and just posted all my cards about 2 hours ago. No sign of the tree yet but I need to wrap up one present for the secret Santa at work and take it in on Wednesday. Have a good week, J

I'm working on our cards today. It's a great day to stay inside as the cold is bitter enough, but the wind just cuts through one.

Everything will get done when it gets done...enjoy the moments.

I'm so late doing my cards this year, but I think they'll make it out by the end of the week.
But yes, it's busy, busy, busy at my house.

Oh, there is so much to do these days! But it's fun trying to stay sane with it all.

I hope all of your appointments went well. It's nice to get those things out of the way.
