Back to work ...........

Unfortunately, my self declared vacation is over. It was back to the daily grind this morning. I got out the duster, furniture polish, vacuum, and mop and tried to put the house in order. I've got the last load of clothes in the dryer and the house is presentable, so I decided to sit down and make a long overdue blog post.

Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Are you trying to exercise more or lose those extra pounds you gained over the holidays? I haven't made any resolutions. I have lots of room for improvement, but I learned years ago that I end up feeling guilty and like a failure when I break my resolutions. So rather than specific resolutions, I just vow to do better.

Hubby went back to work today, too. He got a job as part time cashier at our local FasMart - a convenience store. Since the weather has gotten cold, he has been bored with sitting around the house watching TV. This will give him something to do, get him out of the house, and give him some extra spending money. It will be different from what he was doing as an electric coop lineman. I'm anxious to see if he's going to like it.

My computer is still limping along. I got the most important information backed up to flash drives or transferred to my laptop. I will probably get a new desktop as soon as I decide what I want. I've always had a Compaq and my laptop is a HP, so I'm looking at HPs.

Yep I did resolve and so far, I am faithful. Should I brag after 3 days?
Your hubby may like it since it will be so different from what he was used to.

I suspect your husband will enjoy his new job very much. He'll be out of the bad weather and get to talk to a wide variety of people. Good choice.

Good luck buying a new computer. These days they're a necessity. I have a new ASUS lap top and love it.

I don't make new year resolutions either.

I don't do NY resolutions. I avoid setting myself up to feel like a failure. Like you, I simply try to do my best, and that usually works.

One day I'm going to face the computer thing, too. sigh. I'll hold off as long as I can! Thank goodness for external hard drives!

I don't make resolutions any more, as I never seem to follow through...LOL My husband is retired and loves being home (I would too). He walks for an hour each day. Reads about 4 newspapers on his iPad, watches news and sports all the time, and will sometimes take a nap before I get home.

I didn't make any resolutions this year. Though, I do need to excercise more...

Hope your husband enjoys the new job.

No resolutions, but a pressing need to exercise more and eat less! I'll be quite glad to get back to a more ordinary routine, won't you?

I hope your hubby likes his new job. Change is always a little terrifyingly exciting.

I usually write up a list of resolutions but seldom stick to them. Oh well.

No resolutions but will be walking Lucy everyday now that the Christmas rush of orders are over.

We had to replace the desk top computer in the shop just before Thanksgiving and my faithful old laptop died 2 weeks later. Got an ASUS and I'm very happy with it.

I made some and yesterday was a good day diet wise. Sunday will be a challenge.

I only made 3. THe second one will take research-ongoing.

And the 3rd one is a state of mind.

I have HP laptops and my husband has a desktop HP. There are better computers which have higher prices. You have to decide.

I get best tech help by using HPs CHAT mode instead of their phone help which normally is foreign. The chat may also be but they type and spell better than they speak. I suspect they think the same of us.

I'm about to go downstairs and 'tackle' the decorations and then do the cleaning.
Interesting that your husband is taking a part time job. Good for him. He'll get to see people and maybe make some friends...
I don't do resolutions just at the New Year, but try to make changes all year round. It works better for me.
I'm loving the new hp!

Gotta get that computer fixed so you can write more often. Maybe hubby will chip in with some of his new earnings. Don't you have a birthday this year?

I'm the same way. I used to make New Year's resolutions, but it got to be too discouraging. I do have a few pounds to lose from all the cookies I ate, but other than that, I'm just praying it's a good year.

I own an HP laptop and I love it. This is the second or third one I've had and they are great. I believe it's a Pavillion but for the life of me, I don't remember. Let us know what you end up buying!

Welcome back!
I have resolutions; whether or not I keep them is altogether another matter!
