Monster storm ..........

I've been watching the weather reports on TV. Seems like almost one third of the US is getting a huge snow or sleet storm. Winter just won't quit this year. Record snow fall, gale force winds, and dangerous ice is being predicted for various areas.

So how is my weather? We had sun today with temperatures in the 50s. Rain is predicted for tonight with temperatures in the mid 40s. Tomorrow, the temperature is suppose to get up near 70! How did we get so lucky? The only problem is that tomorrow the groundhog will probably see his shadow here in Southside Virginia. I'm hoping for an early spring, not six more weeks of winter.

Last Saturday was my birthday - my 64th. It was a very quiet and routine day. I had to remind Hubby that it was my birthday. He responded that he thought it was Sunday instead of Saturday. Sunday morning I got a card from him with a cash gift. It's a good thing I don't expect him to be a romantic. If I hadn't practically demanded a card, I wouldn't have gotten a thing. But in all fairness, I usually don't make a big fuss over his birthday.

If you're in the path of this storm, stay warm and safe. And remember, spring will get here - eventually.

You do have a bubble over you don't you. Enjoy Florida North.
We dodged the bullet here and are just bitter cold--negative wind chill--and no snow. Fortunately, before the temps dropped, we got a good rain which we really needed.
I'm sure those in the path are sick to death of it, with the exception of the teachers and kids who are having endless snow days.

Glad to hear that your weather is nice. Ours is dreadful - this is my second day of no work (yesterday they let people out early, but I took the whole day off -- we got about8" of snow, but today is snow, sleet and ice....sighhh

Happy belated birthday.

A card with a cash gift? Well there you go...God bless men!

Happy Birthday, Mary!

We dodged the bullet both yesterday and today. It's warmer -- although that term is really relative, isn't it?

We were lucky here in Maryland too. The temps overnight were above freezing so we got lots of rain and it's suppose to get into the 50's this afternoon.

It's been warm here too and we dodged most of the storm except for the ice. I kind of hoped we'd at least get some snow. Ice is not fun!

Happy birthday! We don't make a big deal over each other's birthdays either. It seems kind of silly for me to ask him to get me a new saddle pad for the horse or some perfume etc., when I buy that stuff whenever I want or need it anyway. I WOULD like a massage though!

Happy delayed birthday to you. Pauxatawny Phil did not see his shadow, so I guess that is what matters. Our local station showed 'Groundhog Day' 45 times so we saw a lot of the litte rodent. How could winter last much longer in beautiful Virginia? Besides, we have little to compain about here either, in that other Virginia north of you. Dianne

We had some of the storm edge but escaped the brunt of it.

However today we have and somewhat unexpected snow/freezing rain mix supposed to last into the night. South of us is getting a worse bunch of mix.

The Sunday we are supposed to have freezing rain and more snow on Monday. However, the poor weather forecasters are not getting their days every accurate, so I jus go outside and see what is falling from the sky at any given time.

Happy (belated) Birthday! That one 60 degree day was such a tease. I am looking for signs of spring. It will be here before you know it.

Hope you had a good birthday. It seems that your weather is picking up little by little even though it seems that you live in a fortunate pocket of the country. The snow has all gone where I am from but I shouldn't talk too loudly as I am on a walking weekend next week and I expect one more slight snowfall before the end of winter.
