I've been a bad blogger ......

I've been terribly neglectful of my blog. I have no excuse other than laziness and procrastination. I also want to apologize for my lack of comments on your blogs. I do read your blog posts every day, however.

I've been enjoying summer. Since we got the pool in operation, I've spent almost every afternoon in the water. We had several days near 100 degrees with high humidity. One afternoon the heat index was 112 - that is almost unbearable. The last few days have been simply gorgeous with lower temperatures and lower humidity. Temperatures will be up near 100 by the end of next week, however.

We've been getting tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. I love fresh summer vegetables. I wish we had planted a larger garden so I had extra to can and freeze. We used to have a larger garden at the back of the yard but the deer would invade it every night and munch on everything, so we gave up and went with the garden squares closer to the house.

Mazie Grace brought a mouse into the house the other morning and let it go. It ran under the china cabinet in the diningroom She sat for awhile, waiting for it to come out, then got bored and went in the other room for a nap. Mollie Ann sat on the scratching box in front of the china cabinet and watched for awhile, then she fell asleep. I have lazy cats. Hubby went to the hardware store and get a mousetrap and we caught the mouse. Why do we have cats?

LOL.....one day our cat brought a mouse in and we did not notice it until we had all 4 cats camped out surrounding the bottom of the refrigerator....major clue...LOL

I have discovered that summer time is not blog time with so many other things to do. I need to motivate myself too. Nice story about the cats, they seem to be creatures that do what they want. Some people at one time used to keep them to get rid of mice in the house but we know a little more about them these days !

If I had a pool, my blog would shut down for the summer. I am in the same boat as you with the hundered plus days. It is making the 90's look like jacket weather.
How funny about your fearless mouser. She evidently just thought it was a neat toy.

Oh what I wouldn't give for a pool after the past week! It's gotten so bad that I've started looking forward to winter and snow. We're unusually cool and wet this weekend but the forecast is calling for high heat and humidity for the next week.

Good for your for enjoying your summer. Spending it all online does not make for lasting memories.

Usually, only the hungry cat really goes after a mouse! I'm pretty sure Mazie Grace and Mollie Ann aren't hungry!

I've been loving our pool this summer too. Knowing I probably won't be here to enjoy it next summer, I've been going for a dip almost every day.
Sounds like your cats might prefer the catnip variety better than the real of mouse!!

I'm back in the world of blogging. I enjoyed the break but began to miss my blogging friends.

Loved this post about your mighty mousers.

Gosh, a pool is a great excuse for not blogging! Enjoy, be safe.

Summer is good for rest and relaxation. It's tough to keep up with a blog when the outdoors beckons!

I know, the break in the heat this weekend was so wonderful. I'm dreading the heat returning - the latter part of the week especially looks bad.

Yay for canning! Our cucumbers are in now and I'm eager to try my hand at pickles - this will be a first.

Our front yard renovations are winding down but the thermometer seems to be winding up.

I blog when I have photos and/or topics.

Made a trip to Branson this weekend for yeard statuary, and a little shopping. Will have a story on that soon.
