My porch .......

The porch at my front door embarasses me. No matter how often I sweep and clean it off, I never know what may be lurking there. I'd hate for company to accidently step in some of the strange things I find. Yesterday morning there was the back half of a rabbit deposited on the mat. Later in the day I found the innards of some unknown animal. Then this morning I look out and Mazie Grace had a rat that she was tossing around and playing with.

Mollie Ann was very interested in what was going on. I think she wanted to play too.

Once Mazie Grace starts to eat, I have to leave for awhile, since I can't stand to watch her. Five minutes later the porch was clear once again.

Saw your comment on Lydia's blog and just had to come check out a blog named after the song by the great Robbin Thompson Band. They should have been much bigger than they were. "Two B's Please" is one of the best albums ever.

Hello SVB and thanks for the visit and comment on our blog, the Frog & PenguINN, which is what we call our 1929 circa Victorian on the VA eastern shore. We've been here from NJ since 2005. Where in VA are you located? And, I am also a fellow Aquarian (Feb 3) so nice to meet another. Read a few of your recent posts and glad Irene and the earthquake didn't affect you badly. We also lost some tree branches and leaves only. Please do return for a visit anytime and I'll do the same.

Aw! The kitty is trying to feed you. How sweet, yet gross. :P

I sure don't miss my outdoor cats. They always have to bring the treasures to the front door to show you. Guess they are just trying to show that they are earning their keep.
The partial baby bunnies use to really gross me out.

Oh cats. They are so wonderful. I have to read your blog to get my cat fix as i can't have one owing to allergies. Looks like you need to talk to them about chasing those voles away. The are great garden helpers. Dianne

I love Mazie Grace's coloring! Sorry about all the dead things. Least they're doing their job!

It's the eyes in the first one and the curious back of the head in the second one that do it for me.

Cats and dogs love to display their natural predatorial skills.

Luckie, my rescue dog of part Ger. Shepherd and 99% something else, has "proudly" displayed chipmunks, rabbits and a purple tailed lizards on our relatively new carpet. She shakes them to death, unfortunately in my mind--shaken head baby syndrome. At least there is no blood.

I only watched her eat one and my stomach churned. She mainly sucks the blood out of them. No doubt she has vampire in her too.

I hate seeing cats torment mice, birds etc. Don't think I could cope with half bunnies or heads of anything!

I'm glad we have a dog!!

Cats just love to bring gifts, don't they? Mine used to drag clothes across the floor at night so I'd see them in the morning.

Good cats, very good cats!
It's the same around here...with 4 dogs, 2 house cats and God alone knows how many barn cats...although I do try to keep the numbers at around a dozen...I never know what's going to get drug in. A couple of weeks ago, Sam got into it with a skunk but lye soap took care of that stinky problem.

We used to have an outdoor cat when I was a kid that was always catching the mice in the basement...mom hated to go down there to do the wash because she never knew what she was going to find.

I know it's in their nature, but things like that just gross me out! We only have one cat that goes outside, and luckily, she is a terrible huntress!
