A visit from Arthur Ritis ............

image001.jpg
Mollie Ann's new favorite place

I haven't been around lately. Mr. Arthur Ritis paid me a visit and settled in for an extended stay in my neck, shoulders, and back. I was too uncomfortable to sit at the computer and was in too foul a mood to converse by any means with other people. I believe the worst is over with and hopefully I will be back to normal soon. Needless to say, I haven't been doing much other than trying to find a position that was bearable. I don't know of anything special that brought the flare-up on. Every so often it just decides to act up for awhile.

We are in the process of closing the pool for the summer. The weather report is calling for cool temperatures this weekend. Even though the days have been hot and humid, the nights have been cool. It's perfect weather for sleeping with the windows open.

We easily got the yard cleaned up after the hurricane and were thankful that we had no damage. A couple of days later a huge limb on a tall oak tree in the back yard broke off. We will have to get a tree service to come in and take it down as it is too high up for hubby to reach. While they are here we're getting the whole tree cut down. As you can see in the bottom picture, it is leaning out over the yard and will fall sooner or later taking the electric wires down with it. I'm surprised the whole tree didn't come down.

I apologize for not commenting on your blogs lately. I'm off now to catch up on everyone.

That's what we call a widow maker. Wise decision to let the pros handle it because those things are just accidents waiting to happen.

Arthur visits here so often I'm thinking of putting him on my tax return next year. The cool weather is a welcome change for us. We're putting the air conditioners in the shed for the winter this week and already sleeping with the windows open. You can always tell when the nights are chilly because Frankie DOESN'T chase the dogs off the bed at night!

WOW...those are some big trees. I'm so sorry about your pain:(

Molly looks so happy - she found a great home with you.

I know what you mean, although my own visitor has been fibromyalgia. He doesn't have a cute name!

I'm chuckling that you are finally "sleeping with the windows open," because I'm beginning to lower mine! I slept with them open all summer, but it is getting cool enough at night that I'm limiting the open space!

That is scary and perhaps it was good it was damaged so it could be removed all together. I love trees but 40 years in Florida taught me I can live with out them around the house.
Arthur has been my companion also and has been more demanding than usual lately. Be glad when science whips the common cold and arthritis. That will make millions happy. Hope you are back to normal soon.

Goodness!! Do you think all that yard cleanup affected your arthritis? Also, temperature changes affect me. I can sympathize.

Love the kitty in the basket, or is that "kit in a basket?" Dianne

Hello, I'm a new visitor who dropped in from Grace's blog, News from the Hill. I was commenting on a recent post and saw your bloog name in the comments section. Since we are currently also living in VA - eastern shore, I had to check your blog as well. And I invite you to view our little blog space too. Please do feel free to comment cause we love to read people's thoughts and opinions.

No apologies needed!

I'm sorry you've been in pain. Damn that Arthur Ritis!

Mollie Ann certainly fills up that laundry basket! Look at the size of her paws!!!

And yes, it's good you didn't lose that whole tree and that someone or something wasn't under it when it fell.

Sorry to hear that you have been suffering and hope that you feel better soon.
Hard to believe that that tree didn't totally come down, looking at those pictures!

I hope you've given Arthur the boot.... Joe had to go the dramatic way of getting a hip replacement to get rid of the uninvited guest.
What a precious cat!

Molly Anne looks mighty comfortable! If only we could relax so easily...

Sorry to hear about your arthritis...I know that can be miserable. Glad you didn't suffer too badly from the hurricane effects.

Take care.

Yes, I know Arthur :( You have all my sympathy.

I feel sorry for trees that have to come down (I know, I'm daft!) But with one bough gone, the rest would soon go.

They don't look like the Oaks I know over here - a different variety, perhaps?

I am still in So. Dakota on vacation but we are resting for the long trip home to AR. so am, like you catching up reading and posting. I have lots of material to post.

I live with osteoarthritis near daily but it is painful most in the lower back where I also have osteoporosis. Compared to and added to my other ailments I accept it as minor.

I am sore from climbing in and out of tour buses and my husband's pickup where I have to add a stool to get inside. I have never driven it.

THen I have had 2 falls this year, on while on trip. Seems to take longer and longer to recuperate. Fortunately no broken bones, so I am thankful.
