Relief ............

image001.jpg

....................... Miss Mollie Ann .......................

Thanks everyone for the tips on self treatment of Plantar Fasciitis. I've been doing exercises every day to stretch my calf and foot muscles. They do seem to help.

Last week I went to Walmart looking for some type of insoles to put in my shoes to give my feet extra support. I noticed they had one of the Dr. Scholl's Foot Mapping Kiosks that I had seen advertised on TV. I decided to give it a try, since I had no clue as to what type of insoles to buy. You take your shoes off and stand on the base, lifting first one foot, then the other. It measures the amount of pressure being exerted by the different areas of your foot and recommends the best custon fit orthonics for you. I found out that I have a very high arch and was recommended the CF130 inserts. They have a system that stabalizes and supports your arch.

They were almost $50.00, but I was willing to try anything that would give me some relief. While the package promised immediate and all-day comfort, I was just hoping for less pain. I put them in my shoes as soon as I got home, and I was amazed at how comfortable they were. My feet no longer hurt with each step! They did provide immediate and all day comfort!

When I took my shoes off that night and put on my slippers without the inserts, each step I took was painful again. I plan on buying a second set so I can put them in my slippers. I don't know if they work as well for other people, but they definitely get my recommendation. I have happy feet again!

I have received no compensation from Dr. Scholl's for my comments.

I am glad that you found some relief. My husband, a prolific runner, suffers with the condition as well.

I have the same thing in my right heel. It's weird though, sometimes it is so painful and other times it is fine.

The doctor said the worst thing woman can do is wear flats all of the time (no arch support. She said to vary the shoes you were from flat to wedge, sneakers and to mid heel shoes to take the pressure off the heel. (seems to work for me)

glad the arches helped.

$50.00 isn't so bad. I had custom orthotics made, which insurance didn't cover, and it cost me $400! So glad they're helping!

I wish there were kiosks for other ailments. Other than a bunion and hammertoe, my feet are fine. The bunion is painful when I buy new shoes but once I stretch them it is OK.

I go no where, except the shower, with out my orthotics. Mine cost $300 so I only have one pair but keep shifting them from shoe to shoe. I'll have to check into Dr. Scholls for a spare.

Thanks for the tip. I am sorry to hear you get no commission for your recommendation. I have high arches, so I would probably benefit from a support. Dianne

Love Miss Mollie Ann

I'm pleased to hear that you spent the cash as anything pain free is worth it. I'd continue with it for a month before you notice any difference & then you won't notice the unusual feeling of the heels being left in after that either. Sometimes I would forget and very occasionally it would be painful. I have 3 pairs of heels now and don't feel the need ... generally ... to use them in my walking boots or slippers either.

Ooh, I better switch out my shoes. I've been wearing flats for years, since we moved to the farm.

I'm glad you're feeling better!

Sounds a splendid way of getting your foot problems solved! Don't think I have seen that sort of machine here - Mr. Scholl - get over here!

That is a lovely photo of Mollie Ann!

Chip, I was also diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis several years ago and had custom orthotics made in addition to getting steriod shots in the soles of my feet - ouch! IThe custom made orthotics were very costly and have deteriorated over the years, so thanks for the tip on the Dr Schol's. I may try one of these kiosk fitting stations if I can d]find one at the local Wal-mart.

The inserts sound like heaven. Next time I'm in Walmart I'll have to give them a try. My feet are always hurting!

Happy Thanksgiving!

WHOOPS, I am sorry for the inadvertant error of calling you "Chip" in a previous reply to this post. I think I was in a blog-reading daze that day!
