Christmas prep .............

Have you missed me? I haven't been around much lately. No special reason for my absence, I've just been busy with normal life stuff. I can't believe that it's the middle of December already. I think it would feel more like Christmas if it were colder. I still have roses blooming, my herbs in pots are thriving, and we're still having to cut grass.

My Christmas preparations are almost complete. Our Christmases are low key and quiet - no frantic shopping and gift buying, no big parties or entertaining, and very little baking or candy making. I will put up my tree either tomorrow or Friday. I have Hubby's gift on order from our local jewelers and the kitties have a new scratcher and catnip. I've already gotten my gift - a Kindle to go along with my Nook.

The amarylis I got earlier at Walmart now has four blooms and looks very festive.

I don't think Maggie May feels well. She usually spends all day outside and has to be forced back in at night. She hasn't wanted to go out for two days now. She goes in the bedroom and sleeps on the far side of the bed all day. Right now she is curled up in front of me watching me type this post. She has been eating a little so I'm not too concerned. I'll keep an eye on her.

Hope Maggie is better soon, maybe she is just feeling lazy.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Years to you & your Family.
Hope your kitty is better soon, I will be getting our tree up this weekend also. Love your Amarylis it is beautiful. We don't really do the buying stuff here, I bake cakes & give jars of something I canned this year as gifts. Our family loves it. Food is always a great gift.

Maggie really does look a bit woebegon. Maybe the weird weather has her down also.

Hope Maggie May is okay!
We have been having such warm weather here, that it really doesn't feel much like Christmas.
I would love to know why you wanted to have both a Kindle and a Nook? I have yet to get an e-reader and I am always looking for input from people who have them.

I'm with you on the low-key holiday because ours is very similar. We are not out madly shopping or going to holiday gatherings/entertaining. Our tree is a real one, but smaller than in past years. We put out less outdoor lighting as well. This simpler holiday is working better for us. Your amarylis is lovely. Hope Maggie May feels better.

A beautiful amaryllis - I love the bright red ones. I hope Maggie May soon gets better. its hard when our pets are obviously unwell, and can't tell us what it is!

Now that the kids are grown and out on their own our Christmas celebrations are low key, too. Our youngest lives in town so you can bet she'll be here for Christmas dinner, ready to chow down on Daddy's cooking! Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
