Cooler weather arrived ...............

This has been a cool, cloudy day in Southside Virginia, It actually feels like fall outside. I decided it was time to get out my cooler weather clothes, so I spent the whole day going through closets and drawers. I have three bags of things to take to Goodwill. I've always loved clothes and find it hard to get rid of things. I don't have much closet space, so I'm forced to pare down. I'm hoping I can finish up tomorrow.

I got another picking of collards from the garden. The groundhog has been in the back yard every day, but thankfully has not come back to the garden. He's been munching on the grass instead. I had the collards with pork chops, navy beans, and hush puppies for supper (my hubbies' favorite meal). The next few days are going to be cool and rainy, so I'm going to make a big pot of soup tomorrow. I haven't had homemade soup since last winter, so I'm looking forward to it.

Hush puppies bring back memories of our times spent at Alligator Point in Florida. Enjoy the soup!

Oh, that meal sounds so good! There is nothing like homegrown greens either.

How do you fix your hush puppies, if you don't mind me asking?

I have a hard time giving my clothes away to Goodwill too. It's even worse with the kid's clothes because of the memories attached to them. But give them away we must. There are just too many clothes in this house!

I have to go through my closet, too. I've been putting it off because I, too, hate getting rid of clothes.
I love hush puppies! Ever have the ones they make -- darn can't think of the name of the restaurant -- it's in Calabash, NC.
It is soup time!!

Reasons,
I had a huge pot of soup and we ate almost all of it, so we did enjoy.

Sweetflutterbys3,
My hush puppies are the ones you buy frozen and heat in the oven. Can't beat quick and easy.

Kathy,
I've never been to Calabash, NC, so I haven't tried their hush puppies. I'm sure they're better than my frozen ones.

My Hubby is making homemade soup today. Going to freeze it just in case we come down with the flu bug in our house.

PLUS, it just makes the house smell good when it's cooking away on the stove!
