Yard work and other stuff .......

We've been busy with normal stuff. I spent several days raking the yard. I wanted to get up sticks, leaves, and pine cones before we cut the grass for the first time. Hubby got out on the mower this afternoon, so the grass cutting season has officially begun. I've fertilized and worked my garden squares. I hope I can plant lettuce and radishes soon. It's been so nice being able to get outside and work again. I've been walking to my Dad's house in the afternoon when I go to feed the cat and get the mail. It's just over a mile round trip, so it's a nice walk.

I've been reading every chance I get. I've read a few of the classics and several purely entertaining books. I've got almost 100 books on my Nook, so I've still got plenty to read.

Like many people, I've been closely following the news from Japan and Libya. My heart goes out to all the people who are affected by these tragedies. I have a lot of admiration for the Japanese people for the way they have conducted themselves during their whole ordeal.

I will close with a couple of pictures of Mollie Ann.

Yard work is back isn't it? I had to mow also but mainly to control the weeds that jump up ahead of the grass.
Isn't it fun getting your hands dirty? My garden is in and I hope the really cold weather is over. We are in a cool down now but not plant damaging.

Mollie Ann is adorable! (And I've been doing yardwork, too!)

I've been anxious to get out to the garden again too. But the weather has been up and down here, with a big turn down yesterday. We got a major hail storm followed by tornados southeast of the city. Scary stuff! The sky looked so greenish and dark last night you just knew something bad was coming! So it'll be a while before I can get the garden ready.

Glad to hear you're able to get outside and experience some early spring weather.

I aways enjoy seeing pictures of the kitties.

Mollie is adorable. My cat "kitty kitty" is so sweet, follows me everywhere. My fruit trees are in bloom and I just love Springtime. We had record low temps in February and many of my plants and vines have dead leaves, don't know if they will come back or not:(
Love to see your photos.

I have to get to planting my garden soon too, but it's supposed to snow this weekend. Yuk.

I have too many books on my TBR list. There's not enough time!

I am busy with my first love, my little TeleCare group. We enlarged our calling area, and I am deep into mailing flyers and making a few appearances at designated and interested groups.

We discontinued one drug, and my heart rhythm drug suddenly began to work! Reluctantly I am still going to have the procedure as this drug is simply too dangerous in my opinion.

Anyway, time to write is not very often right now.

Great photos of Mollie Ann, she's adorable!

Walks like yours to your dad's house are a good way to clear your head, relax, enjoy the weather etc....I've always found walks rejuvenating (of course, I "roll" rather than walk lolol)

I love radishes, it's awesome that you grow your own.

It sounds like your on a reading high, love those! Enjoy!

What with Japan, Lybia and a multitude of other potential disasters on the horizon, it kinda makes you wonder if these are the last days that the Bible speaks about?

Ah, that is the cutest photo of Mollie Ann looking out of the window!

Hope you have roaring successes with your beds!

Not cutting grass here just yet. I think we're a week or two behind you. We're pruning and cutting back liriope and what not...and it's supposed to snow here tonight. UGH!

Mollie Ann is so very, very sweet!

Planting radishes! It's snowing now!

Snow or not, we've already mowed. It's crazy.

Sounds like a lovely, serene walk. Does the cat still live at your dad's house? I guess you can't take him or her home because of Mollie?

It's funny how we all long for winter to end and yet it entails the start of the extra work outside the house. As spring and summer events and commitments increase, it is difficult to squeeze garden work into the schedule.Nothing in winter, everything in summer !
My little observations are put into perspective by the traumas that you mention going on at this time around the world. My thoughts are with the people of Japan and we should be so thankful for what we have because you never know the things that we might have to deal with.
