Pollen .....................

The pine and oak pollen is terrible. I haven't been able to open my windows this week even though we've had temperatures in the 90s. Even with the windows closed, it"s found it's way inside and covered everything in a yellow film. I went out and got in the car today and couldn't see out of any of the windows. The whole car was enveloped in a layer of pollen. The floor of my porch is yellow and all the outside furniture is coated. Everything feels gritty.

I'm thankful that I'm not allergic to pollen. We may get a thunderstorm tonight. The rain will help to take some of the pollen out of the air and will wash it off things. We could use a little rain on the garden and flowers, too.

My azaleas are beginning to bloom. They are always so colorful. The grass is growing like a weed - oh, that's right - my grass is made up of weeds. If it's not raining tomorrow, I'll have to get out on the mower.

Our pollen count -- largely due to oak trees, was quadruple what it normally is. I had the wash the sun porch tile floor twice in four days -- the stuff wouldn't even vacuum up!
We had to turn on the AC. The allergies were just too much for me. At least with the windows closed and the sun porch closed, it hasn't infiltrated inside.
Still in all, I'm HAPPY it's spring!!!

I've never, ever known tree pollen to be like you have it in the USA!! Not in thick layers on the floors, cars, ground etc. What sort of pines do you have over there, for goodness sake??

None of our trees are even thinking about flowers - only the earliest have leaves. In a hot spring there might be enough pollen in the air to cause problems to those with allergies, but it is the grass pollen which causes hayfever sufferers to suffer!

And it doesn't need sweeping up!

I feel really sorry for you all - all that lovely hot weather, flowers, leaves, trees etc. and you have to keep sweeping up! ;)

I suppose its all the rain we have that dampens everything down very nicely.

Hayfever time is June here. Good excuse to watch the Wimbledon tennis on the TV!

Yes... had to wipe off the table, chairs and swing on my front porch so we could sit and enjoy without getting the pollen on our britches and taking it indoors on our butts.

And yes... a dog at our front door is a given almost every day of the week. They're such good mutts and love being wherever we are.

Wishing you a great spring day despite this pollen siege that is upon us.

It's in the 90's already there? Wow! Our temps are bouncing back and forth between the 50's and 80's. But the allergies are the worst they've been in a long time. I'm usually not that bothered by them, but this year my ears are ringing like crazy.

It feels like someone emptied a container of baby powder on my front porch. I'm not alergic to pollen either but it's still bothering me, all that dust up the nose. Of course anything's better than winter.
