Life is hectic ........

I'm way behind on blog reading along with everything else. Please excuse me - I will try to catch up in the next few days.

We were told that the contractors would begin on our kitchen and bath remodel last Thursday. We spent several days moving everything out of the kitchen to the garage and out of the half bath to the guestroom. It's hard to believe that all that stuff came out of my kitchen and half bath. Wednesday they called and said they were finishing a large project in Maryland and it would be Monday before they could begin. That was OK, it just meant we had to live out of boxes over the weekend. At least we had all the furniture in place and the appliances were working.

They arrived Monday morning and moved my dining room furniture to the living room so they could move the refrigerator and stove to the diningroom. They then proceeded to tear out cabinets and floor. I was not feeling well, so I sat in the corner of the living room and watched TV. I had been feeling weak for several days. As the day went on, I began feeling worse. I had pain in my shoulder, back, and stomach and felt weaker. After the workers left at 3:00 I told Hubby that I thought I should go to the doctor.

The doctor did an EKG and immediately called an ambulance to take me to the hospital. I was in the emergency room for several hours while they ran tests. The tests results were normal, but since there was some abnormality to the EKG, they wanted to keep me overnight to do a stress test today. I was not very happy, since the last time I was in the hospital I was a third grader with a broken leg. However, I was a good patient and did as I was told. I must say I was totally bored with lying in bed and watching TV.

They finally came around noon today to take me for the stress test. They took my blood pressure while prepping me for the test. It was too high and they couldn't proceed. So, I was taken back to my room and a test was scheduled for tomorrow. Several hours later the doctor came in to tell me that the insurance company said I couldn't spend the night in the hospital. Evidently I wasn't sick enough. He rescheduled the stress test for Friday and sent me home with a prescription. I am so glad I got to come home. I think I would have gone crazy if I'd had to lie there for another day.

I got home tonight to a total mess. It will be awhile before things get back to normal. Poor Maggie May was so scared last night she wouldn't come in the house. Hubby said he finally got hold of her around 1 AM and brought her inside, but she was so upset he had to let her out at 2 AM. Mollie Ann and Mazie Grace are not as upset, but they still don't like the mess.

Below is a picture showing my kitchen as it looks tonight. They got my microwave installed today and pushed the stove back in place so we could use it. The only problem is I can't find a thing in all those boxes in the garage. We had TV dinners for supper.

Glad you are feeling better and lets pray the stress test shows all is well. As for the mess in the kitchen, just think how wonderful it will be when it's finished and all is new and beautiful.
Take care of yourself,
Pat

Oh, gosh, that stinks! I hope they find what's going on soon and get you back on track. The kind of refurb you're doing is enough to cause anxiety and stress, so be careful! But that kitchen looks very nice!

I am really sorry you have been through such a mess, health and house.
Hopefully they find the cause of your malaise and have the right pill to fix it.
Living out of boxes can't be helping but how nice it will all look when done. Looking good so far.

Oh Mary...your blood pressure was probably high because of all the chaos in your home. I'd hate to undergo remodeling. I'd move instead...LOL

Hope all goes well with tests.

You must take it easy. One reason I have held off on large projects is because I can't stand to go through the mess. Hope yours is cleared up soon. I am sure it will all be beautiful.

No wonder your blood pressure was high!!!

Seriously, I'm glad you're feeling a little better. I want to hear about the stress test.

And I hated it when the kitchen was torn apart -- but continue to think about the end result. Wish I lived closer that I could help you!!

Oh my goodness! That's terrible you went through all that. I know you're glad to be home and I would be too, but I cannot BELIEVE these insurance companies! The doctors wanted to keep you but they said you were not sick enough! I hope it turns out to be nothing.

You're going to love that stove. I have the same one.

Oh my, you have been through it. I hope you are up and feeling better soon. Sometimes things go downhill all at the same time, don't they?

"It doesn't rain but it pours" as we say here. Obviously the kitchen is not helping with your health at the moment. That will get there to some conclusion soon hopefully & you can concentrate on getting yourself right after that.
(I'm way behind on blogs too for other reasons.)
