Slow progress .........

Things are still in a complete mess around here. I went for the stress test Friday, but have not gotten any results. The technician who performed the test told me to contact my doctor today for the results. I called my doctor's office awhile ago and they haven't gotten anything yet. However, I am feeling much better.

I was hoping my kitchen counters and floor would be installed today, but the countertops were not ready and they didn't pick up the tile. So, they demolished my bathroom instead. Now my whole house is in disarray.

Not much progress has been made in the kitchen. The dishwasher was installed, but I still have no water or countertops.

All my dishes and food are still in boxes in the garage along with the boxes that the contractor brought. It's a major job to try to find anything in this mess.

This is my bathroom as they left it this afternoon. We are now without a tub or shower.

All the stuff from the bathroom is in the study. I have to squeeze by boxes to get to the computer desk.

The half bath actually has a working toilet and the only running water in the house. I still can't put anything back in place since they still have work to do.

All the half bath contents are filling up my quest room.

I keep telling myself that it will be nice when it is done and that I won't ever have to go through this again (I hope). I'm basically a neatness freak, so it's hard to just sit and look at the mess. I'm hoping I will get countertops tomorrow and at least a tub.

Okay Mary, I would be crying right now, and I am not a crier either. I just don't do well with disorder.

I hope things move faster for your sake.

HA! I peeled off some wall paper in our house when we lived in Maryland and next thing you know I had torn our carpet. By the time Hubby came home that day we pretty much decided to remodel the entire first floor of the house..... it wasn't all done until 18 months later. LOL My kitchen had no countertops for quite some time! I can sympathize with you.

Don't despair! The mess would be making me a bit crazy too, but it will look so great when it is finished!

Oh you poor thing! I've lived under similar conditions when we were having work done and it is sooo unnerving!! Hang in there, though. Can't wait to see the finished rooms.

Let us know about your test results.

It is SO hard to live in that kind of disarray! I'm beginning to dig out now. With the carpet in, my bedroom is in good shape now, but the living room has a little overflow from the switching of two bedrooms. It is coming along, but as you said, it is slow progress.

I'm laughing because your bathroom contents are in the guest room; my guest room contents are in the bathroom!!

Come on now, start the little mantra: "It will all be worth it in the end". and keep on chanting it under your breath. I lived with that comforting phrase for months until recently!

Moving/remodeling is enough to make anyone stressed. Cheers.

I would have to go live with friends or family for a while. I don't take disruption kindly. That looks miserable. Hang in there.

Hang in there. I went through something like this last summer when we had a new fence installed. We had to take the dogs out on leashes for days. This too shall pass.

That looks like a tough thing to try to deal with, especially if you're not feeling a 100 percent. Good luck to you.

Been there done that, mostly ourselves as apprentice carpenters, plumbers, etc.

I don't even meditate these days on any project which may elevate blood pressure and heart rate!

But it will end.....some time.....and you will enjoy it all.

Renovating is such a pain! but it will end, and eventually you will have a new kitchen and bath to show for it!

I'm glad you feel better. Hope the test results come out okay!

Nodding my head in understanding here!
I kept trying to clean during our renovations and finally realized that I just needed to wait until it was all done.

Hope your tests come back soon and give you some peace of mind!
