You dirty bird you .............

I have a serious issue with one of my bluebirds. He has decided to roost on the rear view mirrors of the car and truck. As you can see from the picture this makes quite a mess. It's embarrassing to drive a vehicle with "stuff" running down the doors and mirrors. Everytime I want to go somewhere, I have to go out and wash off the car first. Any suggestions on how to stop this? I told Mazie Grace she had my permission to catch this dirty bird, but so far she hasn't.

We are suppose to get scattered severe thunderstorms tonight. So far not a drop of rain has fallen. I've heard thunder in the distance and could even smell rain in the air. It has gotten dry. We had 3" of rain earlier in the month, but none in the last two weeks. I gave the garden a brief watering earlier, but all that does is keep it alive. We need a good soaking rain.

A bluebird can roost on my car anytime. I've only seen bluebirds twice in my life. One flew through the yard and left and the other time was on a trip thriugh Virginia. We have had more than our share of rain, so you can have the shower slated for this afternoon. Our swamp (wetland) is a small lake that the mosquitos have taken over.

That little bird did all that!!! Can you say 'digestive problems?' What if you changed the parking spot? Would that work? Put a big plastic owl on the hood? How about one of the bunnies from my yard? :)
We have a bluebird family living in a box two doors down from us. We see them a lot this year -- so beautiful and have also seen an oriole -- which we've never seen in our yard in all the years we've lived here.

Oh dear. Looks like you need a car cover...but that would be a hassle to put on and take off every day. I don't know...I'd probably try to put something over the rear view mirrors that would scare the bird.

That bird needs to eat less seeds!
